My name is Joe Weiss. Thanks for taking some of your time to review my new website. I've been writing songs for most of my life (as a hobby mainly- I do have another job). This C.D. is my second effort and I hope you enjoy the tunes it contains. I write music mainly about the outdoors, hunting and fishing etc. I find great inspirations while in the woods and on the water near my home in Spooner Wisconsin. I try to put into words what I think a lot of "sportsmen" feel as they participate in these activities. To me, hunting and fishing is so much more than the actual "harvest" of fish and game. It's about the experiences, the friends and family that share those experiences, and the respect for the critters we pursue. It’s those things that I try to capture through my music. This album, along with my first release (Living In The North Country) attempt to convey how I feel about the subjects I write about. The tragic shooting of eight individuals during the 2004 Wisconsin Gun Deer Season became the inspiration for this particular C.D. I will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this album to the “Rice Lake Hunters Victims and Survivors Fund” at Dairy State Bank in Rice Lake Wisconsin. Thanks for your support. I hope you enjoy the tunes. I would be interested in any comments you may have or experiences of your own you would like to share. Enjoy!
